SON OF A MAN WHO WAS DETAINED FOR TERORIST ATTACK IS STUDYING AVIATION
Son of one of the men detained in Sydney for alleged planing an aircraft attack, is studying aviation management. According to police reports, he also managed to get among people working in the aviation industry.
“We have not yet detained the men or called him for questioning.” said Australian Police.
The four detained men already have names thanks to the media: Mahmoud Khayat, Khaled Khayat, Khaled Merhi and Abdul Merhi. The older brother, Khaled Khayata, is a senior Islamic State officer, according to intelligence services. Other two detained men, due to suspicion of terrorism, should be linked to Ahmed Merhi who went fighting for IS to Syria.
According to information that leaked from the investigation, the British Intelligence Service has alerted the Australian authorities to the terrorist group. According to them, their target was the Etihad flight from Sydney.
“The investigation will run for several days. We still have many people for questioning and we haven’t accused anyone yet.” add police.
